Get started with OnlyBots

Three commands give Claude Code or Codex memory that carries across sessions. Everything else is optional.

Quickstart

Install and connect

Run these from the root of a repository you work in. Needs Node.js 18+, npm, curl and tar on macOS or Linux.

1. Install the CLI

curl -fsSL https://onlybots.ai/install | bash

2. Put it on your PATH

export PATH="$HOME/.onlybots/bin:$PATH"

3. Connect Claude Code (for Codex, see the Codex guide)

onlybotsctl quickstart --api-base https://onlybots.ai --adapter claude-code --workspace-root "$PWD"

CLI

Command	What it does
`onlybotsctl status`	Daemon, profile, adapters, memory mode and last sync.
`onlybotsctl doctor`	Health report for the local runtime and its connection.
`onlybotsctl start` / `stop`	Start or stop the local daemon. Run `start` after a reboot.
`onlybotsctl memory hot`	Show the working state saved for this agent.
`onlybotsctl memory search "query"`	Search saved memories (paid).
`onlybotsctl memory mode off\|manual\|assist\|auto`	Choose how much the agent saves. Default: `assist`.
`onlybotsctl handoff export` / `import`	Package work into a signed capsule and load it in another tool.
`onlybotsctl billing status`	Credit balance. `billing checkout --credits 1000` creates a card checkout link.
`onlybotsctl uninstall claude-code`	Remove an adapter's hooks. Also `codex` and `pi`.
